This is Mark. He is the oldest person working in the store, and he is the Big Boss. That means when he makes a mistake, he gets to blame other people. “Lucky guy,” you say? You have no idea. Mark likes to read science fiction and fantasy, mystery and thrillers, and military history. He appreciates physics, though he doesn’t pretend to understand any of it. He also enjoys cosmology, because he is literally in awe of the unfathomable vastness of the universe, and he likes the pretty pictures. Mark is very proud of whatever role he has played in bringing together the extraordinary and gifted people who are featured below.

Tracy is the heart and soul of our stellar children’s book section. She has a great love of literature and an uncanny talent for matching up kids and books. It’s Tracy who handles all our store events; it was she who masterminded the Harry Potter Gift Card Program and initiated the Classics Reading Group. She also started the Mother- Daughter Book Groups that have been so successful. In fact, some of the girls from the original group, who started when they were nine, still have not completely disbanded even though they’ve gone off to different colleges. Apparently, “There’s always summer.” The voice of Cover To Cover, Tracy has been on radio and television sharing her knowledge of, and passion for, books.

Davi, is unfortunately no longer with us. No, he didn't die, he just moved to New York. Which is as good as dead to us. All joking aside, we miss Davi terribly, he is a fine young man and we wish him nothing but the best out there!

Emily is our resident artist, a left-brained dynamo with a Puritan’s work ethic and a surprising fondness for the macabre. Her varied tastes are also highlighted in the authors whose books she recommends, from Chuck Palahniuk to Dava Sobel, Malcolm Gladwell to Ian McEwan. It was Emily who lobbied successfully for an expanded and more visible Graphic Novel section. If you like our window displays, chances are she arranged them. Do you like these staff portraits? Yep – Emily.
